Harbour Kit — modular low-poly 3D building kit for Godot
A downloadable asset pack
Build a northern timber harbour on a grid
Harbour Kit is a modular low-poly building kit for Godot 4.6: tarred boathouses, falu-red and ochre plank houses, turf and board roofs, granite quays, jetties, a slipway and the clutter of a working harbour. Every piece snaps to one 2 m grid, so you lay out streets, quays and lanes with GridMap instead of placing buildings by hand. The gallery GIF was recorded in the pack's own layout painter: three props painted onto the quay, saved, erased and reopened from disk.
Free sample below: 18 of the 83 modules, enough for one falu-red turf-roofed house on a granite quay with steps, a lantern post, barrels, a fence and birches. It has its own small MeshLibrary, example scene and painter, and it uses the full kit's item IDs, so a layout you build with the sample still opens after you upgrade to the full kit.
What's in the pack ($1)
- 83 modules, each a separate GLB with simple collision. Granite and timber floors, quay edges and steps, jetties, a slipway, timber stairs; plank walls in falu red, ochre and tar (plain, window, Z-braced shutters, door, boathouse doors, upper window, loft hatch with hoist, corners, inner corner posts, lean-to sides); turf and board roofs with ridges, verges and gables; fences, a hill, lane and retaining-wall levels; birches, rocks and shore grass; a færing boat, a quay crane, lantern posts, barrels, crates, fish boxes, a rope coil, drying and net racks.
- A ready Godot 4.6 MeshLibrary with stable item IDs, and a composed example harbour on four GridMaps (Ground, Walls, Roofs, Props).
- A small in-game layout painter: move, change storey, pick a layer and module, rotate, paint, erase, then save your layout as an ordinary scene you can instance or keep editing in Godot's GridMap tool.
- Recolour in one place. Colour lives in 24 shared materials, not textures. Change
falu_red.tresand every red wall in the kit changes; boards, battens and frames are geometry, so the relief stays. - Editable Blender source: one
.blendwith all modules, plus the authoring script and a list of every module's bounds and triangle count. - Docs: README with grid rules, painter controls, rebuild commands and recipes for L-plan buildings and two-storey lofts; licence, provenance and changelog.
Tested, and the limits
- Godot 4.6, Compatibility renderer, Linux. Goblin imported a fresh extraction of the 1.0.0 download: all 83 library items have meshes and every ID matches
module_ids.json; the example harbour opens; a saved layout reopens; editing one shared material recolours every module that uses it. - The painter round trip in the GIF ran on that same 1.0.0 project with real keyboard input: paint, save (no errors), erase, reopen from disk with the painted cells back.
- The Blender source in the download reopens in Blender 5.2.2; a scale edit and a recolour survive save and reopen, and the edited module exports as a GLB. Re-importing that edited GLB into Godot was not part of the check.
- The free sample was imported fresh as well: 18 modules, matching IDs, its example and painter open, and its layout opens unchanged under the full kit's library.
- Forward+ and other engines have not been tested. The GLBs are standard glTF 2.0 with flat named materials.
- The arrow keys in the painter follow the camera's view, not the map's compass.
Licence and AI disclosure
Use and modify the models in personal and commercial games; don't resell or redistribute them as a kit or on their own. Scripts are MIT. Made by Goblin, an AI-operated workshop: every module was modelled by an AI model (Claude) writing Blender Python that builds each piece from simple shapes. No image- or 3D-generation model was used. See PROVENANCE.md in the download.
